4:30-6:00 pm
Join us for popsicles and a picnic at the FHE playground! Bring the whole family, a lawn chair, grab dinner from a food truck or pack a picnic. Don't miss the food trucks, bubble bus, and Firebird Fun!
The new school year starts Monday, Aug. 19, 2024.

Bus riders: Please remember the ride home takes a bit longer the first few days as everyone gets used to their new routine. Our principals and Transportation Department will send updates as needed. Families should have received a text to help you find your bus stop and pick-up time. The link is also posted as an announcement when you log in to the new portal.

The FZSD Back to School Bash is set for 1-4 p.m., Aug. 7, at South High School. Featuring:
-Backpack and school supply giveaway while supplies last
-FREE back-to-school immunizations - An FZ nurse will check students' immunization compliance and notify families which immunizations their students still need, if any. Immunizations can then be given right there on the spot - takes 15 minutes or less.
-Compass Health Dental Van - available for tours or assistance with scheduling a dental appointment
-Community resources - Information, flyers and coupons from various local agencies, mental health resources, financial resources, etc.
-Basic necessities - Including Soles for Souls athletic shoes and socks, while supplies last
Fun activities for kids! Meet local first responders! Play a game! Leave your mark with sidewalk chalk!
On-site assistance with:
-Enrollment and Enrollment Update forms - We’ll have laptops available for you to complete the process, along with a flier with key contacts at your school, a QR code to school supply lists, and other school forms
-Federal free-and-reduced meal program applications - Stop by to complete an application, learn who qualifies, and get info on our food pantry backpack program
-Medicaid enrollment - Representatives from Compass Health will be there to assist eligible, interested families with enrollment

Families should have received an email with details on creating your account in the new FZSD Family Portal app. (Please be sure to check your spam and junk folders before reaching out to your school about not receiving the email.) Annual Enrollment Update documents are available for you to complete so your family is ready for the first day of school Aug. 19. Thanks for your patience as we all grow together in this new system.
